Plugin Architecture

MBAT is extensible through it’s plugin architecture. Modules can be written to extend the primary workspaces or new workspace can be developed for domain specific tasks.

See documentation for details:

Viewer Plugins

NeuroTerrain & Mouse Brain Library (MBL) -Author: Carl Gustafson, Drexel University

The NeuroTerrain Atlas Client plugin is a viewer for data sets hosted on NeuroTerrain Atlas Servers.

The Mouse Brain Library (MBL) viewer plugin is designed to allow easy browsing of individual sections from MBL data sets.

Large Volume Rendering -Author: Jeff Brandenberg, Duke University

The Large Volume Viewer (LVV) plugin allows the user to view volume image data, such as MRI and CT, without loading an entire dataset into memory.

Search Plugins

Animal Imaging Database (AIDB) -Author: Willie Wong & Asif Marmon, UCSD

The AIDB data source plugins allows the user to query the publicly available Animal Imaging Database.

GeneNetwork Data Source Plugin -Author: Lei Yan, UTHSC

The GN data source plugins allows the user to query the publicly available Gene Expression database and retrieve a list of query results (Trait, include Gene Expression and Phenotype).

Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) Data Source Plugin -Author: Edriss Merchant, Caltech

The ELN data source plugins allows the user to query the Caltech Electronic Lab Notebook and retrieve a list of query results (Study Information, Dataset Information, Subject Information). Every Dataset contains a number of MRI image scans stored in NIFTI format. Data is not publicly available.

Registration Plugins

  • Caltech Automated Image Registration (AIR) Pipeline -Author: Davit Janvalyan, Caltech

An MBAT plugin which evokes a custom LONI-Pipeline script using AIR to register mouse brain images

All plugins are currently packaged together. Please see our plugin page for more information.

Partners' Plugins

The broad utility of MBAT is due to its open architecture. The MouseBIRN partners have created several plugins for access and display of image data resources that they host.
